Short-Term / Respite Stay

Your loved one may need extra help and support with daily living activities for a short-term period: after an illness, injury or hospital stay, for example. At Platinum, we understand that during those times, you want to do what’s best for your family member while, at the same time, continuing to honor your other responsibilities.

Our Short-Term Stay Programs may very well be the answer. Short-Term Stay care provides a safe, nurturing and caring setting for your senior family member and flexibility and peace of mind for you.

With round-the-clock nursing supervision, three nutritious meals a day, and an engaging program of social and recreational activities, you can choose Short-Term Stay for your family member with confidence.

In addition to flexible stay schedules, our program offers:

  • Assistance with activities of daily living
  • Medication monitoring and management
  • Rehabilitation and care services as needed
  • A wide array of social and recreational activities

Memory Support

If someone you love is experiencing loss of memory, two things are uppermost in your mind: keeping your loved one safe and protected and helping ensure there’s plenty of stimulation and opportunities to engage with others.

We provide a secure and structured community that places the person with memory loss at the center of all we do. Our caregiving staff – especially trained in memory impairment -- is committed to learning about your loved one’s interests and background, so we can make meaningful connections and provide an extra level of comfort, respect and dignity.

If your parent is already in assisted living, it’s almost certain that the staff has already noticed that he or she is a good candidate for memory care. Rest assured that our team member will help you fulfill your promise to always put your loved one’s best interests first.

Assisted Living Services

Every person should be able to master the basics of daily living. Yet as we age, the body and mind lose some of the skills that are needed for optimum survival: balance, dexterity, motor skills, and an intuitive awareness of the body’s signals.

Assessing how well a person performs ADLs (activities of daily living) determine the type and amount of care that is needed. Our caring and compassionate staff is here to support you or your family member in achieving these benchmarks:

  • Bathing:  Taking a bath or a shower for daily personal hygiene.
  • Grooming:  Washing hair and shaving as needed.
  • Dressing: Choosing appropriate garments and being able to dress and undress.
  • Transferring:  Walking from place to place as necessary, or at the very least, being capable of transferring from the bed to the walker or the wheelchair and back.
  • Toileting:  Maintaining control of bowels and bladder or independently managing incontinence issues.
  • Eating:  Taking in enough nourishment and properly chewing and swallowing food.
  • Oral Hygiene:  Brushing teeth or taking care of dentures.
